All 27 hostels of Punjab University will remain closed during the summer vacation, according to an official notification, meaning the hostels will be closed from June 6 to August 27, reported 24NewsHD TV on Thursday.
Students working on their thesis during their final semester must obtain formal permission to stay, as per the announcement. Departments intending to continue academic activities during the break are required to seek approval from the Vice Chancellor.
In previous years, students were allowed to stay in hostels at their own discretion during summer vacations. With this change, now only international students will be allowed to reside in the hostels during this period.
