Armed robbers looted the City 21 news team in a brazen daylight mugging near Five Star Chowrangi, further fueling concerns about the deteriorating law and order situation in the metropolis.
According to details, the incident occurred when reporter Mubashir, along with the channel’s cameraman and driver, was on his way to cover a news assignment. Two robbers riding a motorcycle intercepted the team, brandishing pistols and looting mobile phones and cash.
The robbers reportedly took away the driver's mobile phone, the cameraman’s personal device, reporter Mubashir’s mobile phone, an official mobile, and Rs 20,000 in cash belonging to the cameraman. The suspects were riding a 70cc motorcycle without a number plate and fled the scene the same way they arrived — against traffic.
SSP Central took notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from the area SHO. He has directed police to arrest the culprits within 24 hours.
