More than 50 houses were burnt to the ground due to a huge fire caused by electric short-circuit in Sohbatpur on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The incident occurred in Goth Haji Mehboob Ali Khoso near the Dargi area of Sohbatpur. The fire engulfed the entire rea, destroying large quantity of edible goods and animals stored in the houses.
The residents of the area tried to bring the fire under control by themselves, as no rescue or fire brigade facility was available nearby.
Eyewitnesses said that women and children were forced to come out of their houses to save themselves from the blaze.
Fire brigade staff failed to reach the affected site till the filing of this report. The residents appealed to the Balochistan government and district administration to take notice of this grim situation and adopt measures to provide immediate relief to the victims.
Now dozens of families were sitting under an open sky waiting for help.
