The funeral prayers offered at Police Lines , Interior Minister Naqvi takes notice, orders immediate arrest of the gunman

A police officer was martyred in firing by unknown armed suspect in Islamabad on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to police, armed man opened fire on Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ali Akbar of Islamabad police within limits of Sabzi Mandi Police Station on IGP Road at CDA Chowk near Khayaban Sir Syed and fled.

ASI Ali Akbar was rushed to Rawalpindi Holy Family Hospital from Khayaban Sir Syed in a seriously injured condition where he succumbed to his injuries.Ali Akbar was on duty at the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the funeral prayers of martyred ASI Ali Akbar of Islamabad Police were offered at Police Lines. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Supreme Court Judge Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim attended the funeral prayers of martyred ASI Ali Akbar. 

Interior Minister offered Fateha for the departed soul of martyred ASI and paid tributes to his bravery.

A well-equipped contingent of Islamabad Police paid tribute to the mortal remains of martyred ASI Ali Akbar. Naqvi met the family of martyred ASI Ali Akbar and expressed condolences.

Interior Minister assured the culprits will be arrested as soon as possible. IG Islamabad Police, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner and senior officers attended the funeral prayers. 

 Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi taking notice of the incident of firing on ASI Ali Akbar and ordered early arrest of the accused.

Mohsin Naqvi sought report from IG Islamabad Police on the sad incident. In his message, Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to martyred ASI Ali Akbar. Mohsin Naqvi expressed heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the family of martyred saying were share the grief of the bereaved family of martyred ASI Ali Akbar.
