PPP marks 58th Foundation Day of the party in Islamabad

Sherry Rehman says PPP always struggled for the politics of Pakistan, democracy and public rights

58th Foundation Day of the PPP was observed in Islamabad on Saturday at the party office which was attended by Sherry Rehman, Nayyar Bukhari and a large number of party workers, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. 

Addressing the ceremony, Sherry Rehman extended heartfelt congratulations to the party leadership, workers and all supporters on the Foundation Day of the party. 

Sherry claimed that PPP always struggled for the politics of Pakistan, democracy and public rights. 

PPP leader Sherry Rehman said Zulfikar Bhutto founded the People's Party for a democratic, prosperous and peaceful Pakistan. After the fall of Dhaka, Shaheed Bhutto kept the nation united and provided true national leadership. Sherry said People's Party always been the spokesperson for the constitution, democracy, human rights, equality and development. 

She lamented that after failure to follow the constitution, undemocratic forces plunged the country into chaos. 

Sherry Rehman said PPP was founded on November 30, 1967, during a period of severe political crisis. After assuming power, ZA Bhutto first drafted an interim constitution and then a unified constitution of 1973. 

The 1973 constitution remains the basic document of Pakistan's federal structure. The PPP took historic steps in 58 years that gave Pakistan a new direction. 

She said the launch of an independent foreign policy and missile technology was also an achievement of the PPP. Sherry Rehman said the provision of fundamental rights and the Benazir Income Support Program were the prominent hallmarks of the party. Sherry said PPP played an important role in CPEC.
