A three-member committee chaired by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa Saturday approved the policy regarding the scheduling of cases with respect to their importance, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
A committee meeting was held regarding the scheduling of different types of cases in the Supreme Court.
The policy stated that the cases whose urgent decisions are a legal requirement will be fixed for hearing.
The cases of tax and election disputes along with the cases of bail before and after arrest will be heard on a priority basis.
In the policy, it was stated that criminal cases punishable for up to ten years will also be heard preferentially.
Cases with multiple petitions filed against the same decision will also be decided on a priority basis.
