US Consul General Stetson Sanders met with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif who invited US investors to take advantage of wonderful opportunities in her province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During a meeting in Lahore on Wednesday, CM Maryam also met new US Political and Economic Officer. She appreciated growing warmth in Pakistan-US relations.
Talking on the occasion, Maryam Nawaz said improvement in bilateral relations between Pakistan and US is welcome.
Maryam said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to the US will further strengthen bilateral relations.
She said current relations between Pakistan and the US are touching new heights of horizon.
Maryam Nawaz said Punjab faced worst floods in history with great courage. Rehabilitation work has begun after the historic rescue and relief operation, she added.
She said work on Punjab government’s historic package for flood victims has begun.
Maryam said in Punjab the ancient cultural heritage is being restored and improved to promote cultural tourism.
Punjab is a land rich in cultural diversity, Maryam said.
She said Punjab has great potential to become a global tourism hub.
Punjab is the bearer of thousands of years of civilization and religious culture, Maryam Nawaz said.
She said the women empowerment projects of the Punjab government are bearing fruit.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said air quality index is improving in Lahore and other cities due to timely measures and environment-friendly projects.
The Punjab government is trying to minimize the effects of smog coming from cross the border, Maryam Nawaz said.
US Consul General said the Punjab Chief Minister's e-business project for investment and trade promotion is commendable.
The e-business project is creating convenience for investors, US Consul General said.
US Consul Geral said the way and speed at which work is being done in Punjab is being felt.
