Popular Punjabi singer Malkoo has stirred controversy after making startling revelations about fellow artist Jawad Ahmad during an appearance on Hina Niazi’s talk show.
Known for his folk hits and energetic performances, Malkoo — usually regarded as one of the more diplomatic voices in the music industry — broke his silence on what he called “a disturbing mindset” held by his long-time friend.
Speaking candidly, Malkoo said Jawad Ahmad, famous for classics like Dosti and Oh Kehndi Ae Saiyyan Main Teri Aan, “needs to straighten his path.”
He added that while he despises people targeting Jawad’s family and mother, he takes issue with Jawad’s views about fame and success.
According to Malkoo, Jawad believes that stardom is purely a result of one’s talent and presentation — “a complete package” — and that divine will has nothing to do with it.
“He told me that a star becomes a star because he has the full package, not because of Allah’s will,” Malkoo claimed.
Malkoo said he disagreed with the statement, calling it a form of shirk (associating partners with God).
“I told him this thinking was wrong — and interestingly, the very next day, I became a star while he faded away,” he remarked.
The revelation has sparked intense debate on social media, with fans divided over Malkoo’s remarks and Jawad Ahmad’s alleged comments.
Neither Jawad Ahmad nor his representatives have publicly responded to the claims yet.
