Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the gastro outbreak in Jamshoro in which six people lost their lives during the last ten days, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner of Jamshoro said that gastro disease affected 86 people badly, out of which the condition of 15 patients is critical.
He said that the treatment of 105 patients is completed. After directives from the Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, two mobile medical units from the Rehabilitation Department, along with teams from the District Health Office (DHO) Jamshoro dispatched to the area. Two water tankers also reached Jamshoro.
Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro also forwarded a comprehensive report about the gastro outbreak in Jamshoro, in which it was revealed that unhygienic water is being supplied to the residents.
The DHO said the gastro outbreak was caused by the consumption of contaminated water. "We have shut down the unsafe water supply, which has helped control the situation. We have checked more than 300 people - around 100 of them showing symptoms," he said.
All the necessary medicines were provided to the relevant hospital in the area.
