Sonya Hussyn claimed to have represented Pakistan during a recent visit to London, where she promoted her upcoming film Deemak and met Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK Dr Mohammed Faisal.

Sharing moments from her visit on Instagram, Sonya expressed gratitude for the opportunity, writing: “Honoured to meet Dr Mohammed Faisal, High Commissioner of Pakistan to the UK, during the promotional run for Deemak.

Sonya said she discussed film budgets, global collaborations, and the need for Pakistani cinema to build stronger international partnerships, particularly with the UK.

“I truly believe Pakistan should be working on international partnerships, especially with the UK, to bring our stories to a wider global audience,” she noted.

She emphasised that such cooperation could help bring Pakistani stories to global audiences and strengthen the country’s creative exchange abroad.

In the entertainment landscape, such interactions with senior diplomats are rare and often tied to publicity efforts or cultural diplomacy, highlighting the limited representation of artists on international platforms.

Sonya also shared insights into her upcoming film Deemak, which is set to release worldwide in October 2025.

Based on true stories, the film delves into generational trauma, mental health, and family unity, aiming to bring socially relevant narratives to mainstream cinema.

However, her high-profile meeting also raises questions about how such access is facilitated and why only a select few artists receive the opportunity to engage at this diplomatic level.

“Feeling grateful to see Pakistani cinema making its way onto the global stage. Thank you, London, for all the love,” Sonya added.

She had been has been in the UK to promote her upcoming project and has been keeping her fans updated by sharing glimpses from her trip.

“Waking up each morning is life’s quiet blessing — a chance to breathe, to reflect, to cherish, and to love all over again,” the actress captioned one of her earlier posts.

Fans and followers showered her with praise in the comments, while one netizen described one of the shots as a “poor click” on the celebrity’s social media handle.
