A flight of SriLankan Airlines from Colombo to Karachi faced an emergency situation due to an unusual situation of wind speed and subsequently, the flight landed back at Colombo International Airport two hours after its departure, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Flight UL-1183 was at an altitude of 40,000 feet after just 45 minutes into flight but within minutes it came down to 11,000 feet due to strong wind speed.

After departure from the Sri Lanka capital Colombo, the plane faced some unusual issues that forced the flight to land back at the Colombo Airport.

Aviation sources claimed Karachi Airport Air Traffic Control got a signal from the flight having some issues at 1:06 pm on Friday. Karachi Air Control advised the flight to go back to Colombo Airport.

The TV channel reported Air Lanka Airbus could not fly higher than 11,000 feet during his way back journey to Colombo Airport.

Sources said Karachi passengers were shifted to the airport lounge.

It has been revealed that Airbus 330 of Air Lanka airlines was 12 years old.
