Doctors successfully remove tumor from newborn’s eye in Khairpur

A medical team of the Sindh government successfully conducted an eye operation in Gambat hospital of Khairpur and removed a tumor from the left eye of a newborn, who was suffering from the disease called histopathology celloblastoma, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Gambat Hospital neurosurgeon Dr Safdar and his team successfully operated on the child and removed the tumor. Dr Safdar said the operation was very difficult and delicate as the baby was only 30-day old.

The child is reported to be stable now. The doctors said histopathology celloblastoma is a deadly disease like cancer, which had covered the entire eye of the new born. The parents and other doctors have praised Dr Safdar and his team for the success.
