An accountability court in Islamabad on Tuesday accepted the plea bargain of Rs1.80 billion in a housing scheme fraud case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

An accountability court headed by Judge Muhammad Bashir accepted the National Accountability Bureau’s request for the endorsement of a plea bargain to the tune of Rs1.80 billion.

Investigation Officer Salman Akbar appeared before the court along with four accused.

Accused Junaid Asghar, Bazaid Asghar, Muhammad Naeem and Farooq Ansari entered the bargain plea. They told the court that they were filing the plea bargain on free will. They said they were aware of the consequences of the plea bargain including disqualification.

The NAB, Rawalpindi filed a reference against the suspects in 2011. They were accused of looting people by selling plots in different phases of a fake housing society.

According to the NAB, the accused did not apply for the No Objection Certificate of the housing society.
