Traders term rise in dollar rate, surge in duties reasons for prominent hike in tyre rates

Traders have boosted the prices of car tyres up to rupees 6,000, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

The traders have termed the rise in dollar rate and hike in duties as the reasons for the prominent surge in tyre prices. The traders are of the view that the duties on imported tyres have been increased therefore tyre prices in local markets have witnessed rocketed increase.

It is pertinent to mention here that the price of the tyre of the Corolla car has been increased from rupees 8,000 to rupees 11,000. Customers are now heading to purchase used tyres amid a sudden increase in prices.

As per the details, the price of the tyre of the Mehran car has been increased by Rs1,500 to Rs3,500. The price of the tyre of the Cultus car has been hiked up by Rs2,500 to Rs4,000. Whereas, the price of the tyre of the Corolla car has surged by Rs3,000 to Rs6,000.
