Waqar Mehdi of Pakistan People’s Party has been elected senator unopposed on a seat vacated by PPP’s Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Waqar Mehdi became senator-elect after MQM-Pakistan withdrew its candidate.

PPP’s covering candidate Aajiz Dhamra said that the MQM-P can join Sindh cabinet anytime.
