PML-N Parliamentary Leader in National Assembly Khawaja Asif has said that Kashmir issue demands sincerity and seriousness instead of politics.

Expressing his views in National Assembly, Khawaja Asif criticised the foreign policy of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying, “Who stand along with Pakistan at this time”. “We even could not call a summit of the Organization of Islamic Council on Kashmir issue,” he highlighted.

He questioned that what was done for Kashmiris at the UN platform? A call was given to record protest against Indian atrocities in occupied territory every Friday but no implementation was made on it, he said.

“Kashmir issue demands sincerity not politics,” he stressed. Talking about recent normalancy in ties with the US, he said that Washington was developing friendly relations with Pakistan for its interests.

Terming occupied Kashmir a “biggest jail” in the world, he said that Kashmiris sacrificed a lot for the freedom, adding that martyrdom of Burhan Wani, a freedom fighter, revived the issue again.

Kh Asif said that Pakistan faced diplomatic defeat on Kashmir issue despite being a nuclear power. He added that it is failure for Pakistan that no country other than Malaysia, Turkey and China voiced support for Pakistan on Kashmir issue.

The PML-N leader also called OIC a dead horse for not holding a summit on Kashmir issue. He said that Indian occupied Kashmir is currently largest jail in the world. He added that all minorities in India are worried after Modi won the election.

Criticising Imran Khan, he said PM’s statement is on record in which he said that Kashmir issue will be resolved if Modi is elected. Kashmir is jugular vein of Pakistan and government should take concrete steps to help Kashmiris, he added.

He said that government wasted a golden opportunity of exposing true face of India to the world after controversial citizen bill was passed by Indian parliament.

PML-N leader said that Kashmir is a humanitarian issue as mobile and internet services are still not available to Kashmiris. He added that Kashmiris are chanting slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ because they want freedom from India.

Kh Asif said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif sent delegations to 30 countries to raise Kashmir issue. He added that Nawaz Sharif paid tribute to Burhan Wani at UN and on the other hand, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi raises Kashmir issue more in Multan as compared to international forums.
