Pakistan successfully test-fires Ghanznavi ballistic missile

Pakistan successfully test-fired surface-to-surface ballistic missile Ghaznavi, the capability to hit its target within a range of 290 kilometres, reported 24NewsHD TV channel quoting Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday.

ISPR said that the Ghaznavi missile could carry nuclear and other warheads.

“The missile was test-fired during the annual field training exercise,” Pakistan Armed Forces Spokesperson said.

President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, and military leadership have also congratulated the country’s scientists and engineers on the successful experiment.

Commander Army Strategic Forces Command Lieutenant General Muhammad Ali inspected the test-fire with senior military officials, scientists and engineers also present on the occasion.

Lieutenant General Muhammad Ali lauded the launch and the technical expertise of officials involved in the entire process, ISPR said.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan also successfully test-fired Shaheen-III surface-to-surface ballistic missile, having a range of 2,750 kilometres on January 20.

In a tweet, ISPR Director General said, “Flt test aimed at revalidating various design and tech parameters of the weapon system.”

“The President, Prime Minister, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee CJCSC and Services Chiefs have congratulated scientists and engineers,” the Pakistan Armed Forces Spokesperson said.

According to the ISPR, the successful flight-test, with its impact point in the Arabian Sea, was witnessed by General Nadeem Raza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), Director General Strategic Plans Division, Commander Army Strategic Forces Command, Chairman NESCOM, the scientists and the engineers.
