Renowned religious scholar Mufti Sardar Ali Haqqani was injured in an assassination attempt in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Swabi District on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The attacker stabbed Mufti Sardar Haqqani with a sharp knife at a seminary, resulting in serious injuries to him.

Haqqani’s supporters overpowered the attacker and handed him over to the police.

The religious scholars were rushed to a local hotel where doctors were treating him.
