The additional advocate general (AAG) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Friday resigned in protest over removal of KP Advocate General (AG) Shumail Butt, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The AAG sent his resignation to the KP caretaker chief minister, stating that AG Shumail Aziz had been removed illegally from the office.

“The caretaker government overstepped its authority by removing the advocate general,” read the text of the resignation.

“In the current situation, it is not possible to continue working with the caretaker government. Therefore, I am resigning from my post,” it added.
