KRL Hospital doctor dies from coronavirus

Another doctor died of coronavirus in Islamabad on Sunday. 

According to the details, Dr Umar Farooq, Head of Pathology Department KRL Hospital, breathed his last due to coronavirus. Dr Umar contracted the deadly virus on December 8 last year.

The authorities in Pakistan have recorded 53 more deaths and 2,272 fresh infections during the last 24 hours (Saturday) by the deadly coronavirus, showed figures released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Sunday morning. 

According to the latest NCOC data, the number of positive cases has surged to 486,634 while the nationwide tally of deaths has jumped to 10,311. 

As many as 1,686 patients have recovered from the virus during the last 24 hours (Saturday) whereas the number of total recoveries stands at 440,660. The total count of active cases at the moment stands at 35,663.
