Dera Ismael Khan police have wrapped up the investigation and claimed to have arrested all three killers behind the murder of ANP tehsil mayor candidate Umar Khattab Sherani, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

DI Khan DPO Najamul Husnain Liaquat said that Aneeta, third wife of the slain leader along with Shafiq and Hakim, were behind the killing of Sherani.

On Dec 20, the Awami National Party's candidate who was contesting the election for Dera Ismail Khan city's mayor was shot dead, a day before the polling of local government seats in 17 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to police, some unidentified attackers opened fire on Umar Khattab Sherani outside his residence in the limits of Model Town police station and fled. Sherani died on the spot.
