8 injured in gunbattle between rivals in Sheikhupura court

At least eight people were injured in a shootout between two rival groups over an old enmity on the premises of the district court in Sheikhupura on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

According to details, two rival groups, Arif Khan Group and Kamboh Brothers arrived at the court for appearance in a case, also relating to an armed clash, However, they opened indiscriminate firing on each other.

As a result, eight people injured who were later rushed to the DHQ hospital for medical assistance. 

The firing caused chaos and stampede in the court and litigants ran for cover to save their lives.

It was learnt that lawyers were also involved in both the warring groups due to which the police were acting slackly. 

Following the incident, the police closed the roads of district court and detained a number of people.
