Bloodshed over Imam Masjid s pay raise injures 22 in Swat

Swat, a city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday witnessed bloodshed over the issue of an increase in the salary of a local Imam Masjid in which 22 people have been seriously injured.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, a dispute emerged between two parties in the Alam Ganj area’s mosque when Imam Masjid raised the issue of his salary.
One of the parties agreed to raise the pay of the Imam Masjid while the other party made an objection.
Later, both the parties attacked each other with sticks and some sophisticated weapons resultantly, 22 people were injured on both sides, with five in critical condition.
Swat Police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. Police brought the situation under control by arresting 18 people and recovering some pistols, ammunition and sticks from the accused.
