Heavy monsoon rains expected in many cities today

There are bright chances of rain-wind-thundershower in Punjab, Islamabad, and upper and lower parts of the country on Sunday (today) as monsoon currents are penetrating followed by heavy rain showers in the coming days, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In Narowal, light rain spell continued turning the weather pleasant. 

In Lahore, the weather has turned pleasant as monsoon currents are penetrating in upper/eastern and southern parts of the country. Lahore weather office recorded 31 degree Celsius temperature of the city. 

In Jhelum city, strong wind followed by monsoon rains spell started, however, unscheduled load shedding has put great challenge for the people. 

A westerly wave is also present over upper and western parts of the country.

Met office informed that monsoon rains have started with the initial spells in parts of Northeast Punjab, Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. More thundershower rain with isolated heavy falls are expected in these parts in the coming days. Strong monsoon currents are also likely to enter southeastern parts of Sindh and Balochistan from tomorrow. Under the influence of this weather system.

Rain-thundershower with heavy to very heavy falls is expected in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Sanghar, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Thatta, Hyderabad, Tando M. Khan, Tando Allayar, Karachi, Dadu and Jamshoro districts during 2nd to 5th July, 2022.

Rain-thundershower with isolated heavy falls is expected in Shaheed Benazirabad, Noshero Feroz, Sukkur, Larkana, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Qambar Shahdadkot, Ghotki and Kashmore districts during the period.

Rain-thundershower with heavy to very heavy falls is expected in Khuzdar, Barkhan, Lasbella, Kohlu, Sibbi, Awaran, Naseerabad, Panjgur from 2nd to 5th July, 2022.

Rain-thunderstorm with few heavy falls is expected in Quetta, Zhob, Dalbandin, Nokkundi, Noshki, Qila Saifullah, Mastung, Kalat and Coastal belt (Gawadar, Pasni & Ormara) during the period.
