Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has given the status of ‘Special Vetting Agency’ (SVA) to the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) on Friday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the PM has assigned the responsibility of scrutiny of officers for the appointment, posting and promotion to the ISI.

The report said the top intelligence agency of the country, ISI has been authorized to verify and screening of all Public Office Holders (officers’ category) for induction, important postings and appointments and promotions.
The Establishment Division has issued the notification after the approval of the Prime Minister.
