WhatsApp just introduced an update for the Android beta app that adds a split view functionality to the app's tablet edition.

This new feature, which optimises the user interface (UI) for tablets, is a game changer for Whatsapp users as it delivers a better experience on a larger screen, and users may now view and use two distinct portions of the app on their tablet screen at the same time.

Split View (Perspective in Two Parts)

Webetainfo has already updated netizens that WhatsApp is going to launch a version of the companion mode that allows an Android tablet to be linked to an existing WhatsApp account.

Earlier, WhatsApp was not optimised for Android tablets, thus users had to rely on workarounds to utilise the software on tablets.

WhatsApp debuted a tablet-compatible version for some beta testers in September, but the interface was not tablet-friendly.

WhatsApp, on the other hand, is now rolling out a redesigned interface that includes a split view on the tablet version:

As seen in this screenshot, the current beta version of WhatsApp for Android tablets has a split view, which significantly improves the user experience.

Previously, when launching a chat on the tablet version of WhatsApp, the chat view would take up the entire screen, and users would have to return to the chat list to switch to a different conversation.

Although the split view is accessible in the calls and status tabs, it is clearly more useful in the chats section.

The split view allows users to easily navigate between conversations without losing sight of their ongoing talks.

Furthermore, the split view makes it much easier to manage and organise chats because it allows users to easily scroll through the list of conversations to find the one they need without leaving the current one.

After installing the current update of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Play Store, the tablet version's UI is available.
