Former Test cricketer Sarfaraz Nawaz has jumped on the match fixing bandwagon and has stated that he already had doubts over two matches of World Cup 1999 including the Pakistan vs Bangladesh match.

The former fast bowler added that he was the first person to record a statement before the Justice Qayyum Commission in 1999. Furthermore Sarfaraz Nawaz also stated that he had told Shoaib Akhtar that he would take five-six wickets in this match, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

Moreover Sarfaraz Nawaz said upon getting news regarding match fixing, he asked Wasim Akram on which he said that they will win the match. Giving his views about former medium pacer Ata-ur-Rehman, Nawaz said that Wasim Akram told him on the phone that he would give him three to four lakh rupees.

Nawaz further added that Umar Akmal's ban should be for six months but he was sentenced to three years which is not justified and also stated that if Wasim Akram had been banned, the situation would not be as it is today.
