British High Commissioner to Pakistan Dr Christian Turner has said that the United Kingdom stands with Pakistan against coronavirus.

According to the High Commissioner’s official statement, coronavirus has affected every country in the world and British High Commissioner stands together with friends in difficult times. He further added that there is no better example of international friendship than the close relationship between the UK and Pakistan.

While highlighting the efforts of the UK, Christian Turner stated that the UK is working internationally to prevent the disease and reduce its effects.

Following the appeal of Prime Minister Imran Khan to suspend loan repayments, the United Kingdom talked with the Finance Ministers of G20 countries and spoke about the inclusion of Pakistan in the list of countries with suspension of loan repayments.

“We are encouraging other financial institutions to increase cooperation for Pakistan. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has raised a record 250 million for international research into corona and the first step in fighting corona is to develop a vaccine,” British High Commissioner Christian Turner said.

Moreover, the High Commissioner also  stated that joint efforts are required to counter coronavirus and therefore the UK will co-host the Corona Virus Global Response with other international donors on May 4.

The High Commissioner also paid tribute to all those healthcare professionals who are fighting on the front lines in Britain and Pakistan.
