Qabza group occupies 347 ETPB pricy plots in Karachi’s Orangi Town

The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has sold most of its properties whereas its 347 pricy plots have been encroached in Orangi Town of Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Saturday.

Since its inception in 1975, the ETPB had sold 802 of its 1,195 properties and 347 plots are occupied by qabza mafia in Karachi, however the Board still possess 36 properties.

The Board had also sold jewellery and 2,163 kanals agricultural land.

The ETPB owned 971 plots in Islamabad and Karachi, of which it had so far sold 600 plots, but it still possesses 14 plots.

The Board had sold out 161 out of 176 homes but still has 15. It also sold 17 shops out of 21, 24 buildings out of 26 and a godown. 

The Board had also sold 2,156 kanals and a marla land in Bahawalnagar, Jhang and Abbottabad. In Okara, the Board had given 13 kanals state land on lease.

The ETPB had also handed over 293 plots and 52 houses, 936 kanals land and five shops to their owners as per the directives of the court.

The TV channel reported that as per the documents, Capital Development Authority (CDA) had handed over six plots of ETPB in Islamabad to ex-servicemen.

The Board had also sold gold weighing one kilo and 601.4 grams.
