NAB formally launches inquiry against senior bureaucrat Nabeel Awan

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has formally launched an inquiry against senior bureaucrat Barrister Nabeel Awan for having assets beyond his income, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

In a letter written to financial and real estate regulatory institutions, the NAB has sought records from Lahore and Faisalabad deputy commissioners, LDA, FDA, and Punjab Cooperatives Departments in order to scrutinize the assets of Nabeel Awan and his family.

Through the letter, the NAB also summoned records of assets owned by Nabeel Awan’s father, mother, wife, daughter and sons.

Nabeel Awan, at the moment, is discharging his duty as Additional Secretary National Health Services in the federal bureaucracy.

Earlier, there were reports that the NAB was conducting a forensic audit of assets of Nabeel Awan.
