The people of Karachi should prepare themselves for “a big shock” as Karachi Electric has sought a massive hike in power tariff, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
K-Electric sought a massive hike of Rs18.86 per unit in electricity price in connection with accumulative rise in tariff of last seven months on monthly fuel adjustment basis.
K-Electric has filed an application with the Nepra seeking raise in power rate from July 2023 to March 2024.
The Nepra will take up K-Electric’s plea on May 9.
In its application, the K-Electric has sought to implement the rate in connection with monthly fuel adjustment of last nine months – the seven months’ price calculates to Rs18.86 hike in tariff while it sought a decrease of 29 paisas in the remaining two months.
