Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, Wednesday held a telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, to discuss regional developments and diplomatic efforts amid rising tensions in South Asia, according to Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan.
During the call, Ishaq Dar briefed the Omani Foreign Minister on the prevailing regional situation, highlighting India’s provocative propaganda, unilateral illegal actions, and its suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty—moves he described as clear violations of international law.
In response, the Omani Foreign Minister called for de-escalation and emphasized the need for dialogue and diplomacy as the only viable path to peace and stability in the region.
The Deputy Prime Minister also expressed appreciation for Oman’s constructive role in facilitating Iran-US talks, and conveyed his best wishes for the success of these critical diplomatic efforts.
The conversation reaffirmed both countries’ commitment to regional stability and the peaceful resolution of disputes through engagement and international cooperation.
