Spain welcomes Pakistan’s stance on peace, reaffirms commitment to international cooperation

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar Wednesday held a telephone conversation with Spanish Foreign Minister and Minister for European Union and Cooperation Jose Manuel Albares, during which he outlined Pakistan’s concerns over escalating regional tensions, the Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan confirmed.

Dar briefed the Spanish minister on recent developments in South Asia, particularly India’s provocative actions, ongoing propaganda campaign, and the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, calling them blatant violations of international law. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and security, while also expressing readiness for an independent and transparent international investigation into the matter.

In response, the Spanish Foreign Minister welcomed Pakistan’s call for a peaceful resolution, expressing support for transparency and diplomacy in addressing regional issues. He also appreciated Pakistan’s constructive approach and underlined the importance of dialogue.

Both leaders agreed on the need to enhance cooperation at bilateral and multilateral levels, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening diplomatic and strategic ties between the two nations.
