Station house officer (SHO) Waseem Sajjad and gunman constable Hayat were seriously injured when unidentified terrorists opened fire on their vehicle in Bannu, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Soon after the attack, a heavy contingent of police reached the area and shifted the injured SHO and the constable to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) in Bannu.
Sources said that a search operation was already under way to apprehend the terrorists who escaped from the scene after the attack.
Earlier on April 25, 2025, security forces have killed six militants and injured four others in an intelligence-based operation in Bannu.
According to ISPR, own troops effectively engaged the Khwarij location during the conduct of operation.
