The Lahore–Multan Motorway (M3) has been closed for heavy vehicles from Faizpur to Darkhana due to dense fog, a spokesperson for the Motorway Police Central Region said on Tuesday.
The spokesperson said the temporary closure aims to protect lives and property, warning that lane violations in foggy conditions can lead to serious accidents.
"Road users have been urged to strictly follow lane discipline and avoid unnecessary travel."
The spokesperson added that the citizens have been advised to prefer daytime travel, with the Motorway Police identifying 10 am to 6 pm as the safest travel window during fog.
Drivers have also been instructed to use fog lights, avoid overspeeding, and maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead.
