Alizeh Shah has directly called out veteran singer Shazia Manzoor over what she describes as a lack of honesty, reigniting public attention around a long-standing dispute between the two entertainers.
The issue resurfaced after controversy first erupted back in December 2021 when Alizeh fell on the ramp during a performance with Shazia at the Bridal Couture Week stage, leading to speculation and debate about whether Shazia had pushed her.
Recently the veteran singer responded to questions about the incident, insisting in Punjabi, "Lo ji menu Allah di qasmay, mein nahi daigeya. Aapay hi diggi si. Ainni sohni kuri nu dil krda hai degan nu? Os din o sohni lag vi bari rahi si. Onu mein nahi degeya, onu nazar lagi ae." She followed up with, "Alizeh, I love you beta."
(I swear upon God that I did not make her fall, she tripped. Why would anyone want to hurt such a beautiful girl? That day, she was indeed looking very pretty. I did not make her fall, she caught an evil eye. Alizeh, I love you my child.)
In a post on her official social media account, Alizeh addressed Shazia’s remarks head-on.
Emphasising the importance of sincerity and professionalism, she uploaded to her Instagram story: “Expecting sincerity just because someone is a senior is like hitting your head against a wall. Seniority does not automatically equal wisdom, grace, or honesty.”
Alizeh continued by urging established figures in the industry to focus on their craft and contribution, rather than maintaining relevance through recurring controversies. “Shazia Manzoor, I also genuinely hope that your work goes viral for your music and talent, not for repeatedly pulling down models and actors. True value never needs to be proven by diminishing others,” she added.
Alizeh Shah is a Pakistani television actress who first entered the entertainment industry in 2016 with a supporting role in Choti Si Zindagi, and rose to prominence with her breakout role as Palwasha in the romantic drama Ishq Tamasha in 2018, earning her a Hum Award for Best Television Sensation.
She became widely recognised for portraying Dua in the popular military-centred drama Ehd-e-Wafa in 2019. Over the years, she has starred in a range of serials including Hoor Pari (2019), Jo Tu Chahey (2019), Mera Dil Mera Dushman (2020), Tanaa Banaa (2021) and Bebasi (2022).
One of her most recent projects is the drama Ishq Beparwah (2024), in which she portrays a character named Jannat. The series follows her journey from life with a traditional, caring grandmother to the challenges she faces after marriage, as cultural expectations and personal growth come into play.
Alizeh has also been candid in recent years about professional pressures and criticism she has faced, including issues related to industry practices and her decision to step back from social media amid ongoing scrutiny.
Her latest comments confronting Shazia Manzoor’s narrative reflect her ongoing effort to stand up for personal integrity and call for greater sincerity within the entertainment community.
