The United Arab Emirates (UAE) have announced a 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled to begin on February 7 in India and Sri Lanka.

Mohammad Waseem will captain the side at their third appearance in the global tournament, having previously featured in the 2014 and 2022 editions.

The UAE secured qualification for the mega event after defeating Japan in the Super Six stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia-Pacific (EAP) Qualifier, held in Oman.

As part of their preparations, the UAE are currently competing in a three-match T20 International series against Ireland.

The team will also play two warm-up matches against Nepal and Italy on February 3 and 6, respectively, ahead of the tournament.

The UAE will open their World Cup campaign against New Zealand on February 10 in Chennai. They will also face Canada, Afghanistan, and South Africa in Group D of the tournament.

The team’s coaching staff features former Pakistan all-rounder Yasir Arafat, who will oversee the bowling unit, while former India international Lalchand Rajput will serve as head coach.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, bringing together the world’s top teams in the shortest format of the game.
