Capital Development Authority (CDA) failed to get relief in a miscellaneous application in Islamabad High Court in which it requested the court to suspend single bench order regarding CDA’s dissolution, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. Earlier on Wednesday IHC approved CDA's miscellaneous application for early hearing of intra-court appeal. A division bench comprising Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro and Justice Muhammad Azam Khan heard the case.
During the hearing CDA Counsel Shehryar Tariq contended that IHC Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani had ordered the government to initiate the process for the dissolution of CDA. He requested that the decision of the single bench to dissolve CDA be suspended.

CDA was working but facing problems due to High Court order’s, lawyer Shehryar Tariq told the bench. Single bench did not stop CDA from working, Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro remarked. Lawyer Shehryar Tariq said single bench decision effectively stopped CDA from working as decision said that the tax collected by CDA under this SRO should be returned. Justice Khadim Soomro remarked that High Court was on vacation right now, there was no emergency in this case. There is an emergency, CDA's hands and feet have been cut off, CDA lawyer said.
Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro said CDA case will be fixed on the first day after the vacation. Later IHC court adjourned the hearing of the case.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday ordered the government to dissolve the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and transfer its powers to the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (MCI).
Established in 1960, the CDA is a civic organisation tasked with the development of the federal capital.
