Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shaukat Basra has revealed that both the sons of Imran Khan plan to return to Pakistan to join the protest movement, despite the party founder's personal efforts to prevent them. However, he clarified that the exact timing of their arrival is not confirmed yet.
In an exclusive conversation on the 24NewsHD TV programme Dastak, Shaukat Basra stated that Pakistan is currently being run like a jungle, yet the sons of the PTI founder remain steadfast in their decision to return.
Basra emphasised that Qasim and Suleman, the founder's sons, are not currently active in politics, but they themselves are eager to come back to Pakistan.
Basra further added that while a final schedule for Qasim and Suleman's return cannot be disclosed at the moment, it is certain they will eventually return to take part in political activities.
According to Shaukat Basra, the involvement of this younger leadership of Qasim and Suleman will inject new energy into the party’s protest campaign for the release of Imran Khan.
In the second segment of the same programme, the ruling Janta, the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Kheal Das Kohistani, rejected the perception of political victimisation against PTI.
The PML-N leader said those punished on May 9 were involved in the incidents and faced the consequences of their actions.
Kohistani added that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur didn't descend from the sky, so if there is evidence against him, he too will be held accountable.
PML-N leader Kohistani went on to say that CM Ali Amin Gandapur seems to feel his time may be up.
