The federal government has further increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel under the revised petroleum pricing mechanism, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy’s Petroleum Division.

The price of petrol, officially listed as motor spirit, has been increased by Rs1.09 per litre, taking the new rate from Rs335.06 to Rs336.15 per litre.

The price of high-speed diesel has been raised by Rs2.42 per litre, increasing from Rs390.62 to Rs393.04 per litre.

The revised ex-depot prices will take effect from July 31, 2026.

According to the notification, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority revised the prices in line with the federal government’s new petroleum pricing mechanism.

The latest increase is expected to add to transportation and business costs, as high-speed diesel is widely used in freight transport, agriculture and public transport. The higher petrol price will directly affect motorists and other consumers relying on private transport.
