The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has strongly denied reports of speculation on the prices of petroleum products and said the petrol prices are not being increased by Rs20 per litre from July 01.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, an OGRA spokesperson issued a statement on Thursday and said speculations should not be made regarding the prices of petroleum products.
The OGRA spokesperson said in the statement that no summary regarding the prices of petroleum products has been sent to the federal government yet.
The spokesperson also added that it should be noted that the news circulating on social networking websites (not Channel 24) has said that the price of petroleum products is likely to increase by Rs20 per litre from July 1.
Pertinent to mention here that at present the price of petrol is Rs 262 per litre and the price of diesel is Rs 253 per litre, while the price of kerosene is Rs164.7 per litre and the price of light diesel is Rs147.68 per litre.
