The Modi government's alleged involvement in transnational terrorism has been exposed by recent documents presented in a US court, unveiling a secret assassination plot against Sikh leaders abroad, masterminded by India's intelligence agency, RAW.
According to official court filings, Indian businessman Nikhil Gupta admitted to being recruited by a senior Indian official to orchestrate a murder plot. The target was Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a dual citizen of the United States and Canada and head of the pro-Khalistan group “Sikhs for Justice”.
The documents further reveal that Pannun was a close associate of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was assassinated in Canada in June 2023. The Canadian government had held India responsible for the killing, terming it a direct attack on its sovereignty.
Gupta was allegedly contacted by an individual named "Amanat" after returning from Uzbekistan. This person was later identified as Vikas Yadav, a senior RAW officer who reportedly had direct lines of communication with the Modi administration.
Yadav provided Gupta with Pannun’s personal details, including his address and phone number, and offered him $100,000 to carry out the assassination. Gupta also conspired to target additional Sikh leaders in Canada.
The plan, however, fell apart when Gupta was arrested at Prague Airport. Upon his arrest, Gupta immediately disclosed the identity of the RAW handler involved in the plot.
The US documents strongly suggest that the Indian government, through RAW and its criminal networks, has been actively targeting Sikh individuals abroad. The revelations underscore the alarming extent of India's anti-Sikh operations and its willingness to violate international law.
