Pakistani actress Noor Zafar has reacted to popular Journalist Reham Khan’s insensitive and very controversial remarks about her sister, and acclaimed actress Sarah Khan, over her anti-feminist perception.
Reham Khan has taken a swipe at actress Sarah Khan following her recent controversial comments dismissing feminism and supporting traditional gender roles.
In a statement, Sarah Khan stressed she opted for her husband, singer Falak Shabir, to handle all financial responsibilities.
"I can’t even stand in lines to pay bills," Sara said.
Reham Khan weighed in on the controversy, subtly swiping at Sarah, saying: "That actress has forgotten she’s able to work freely today because of the women’s rights movement.
“Even if you don’t believe in feminism, there’s no reason to say something regressive. People in positions of privilege should speak up for those who are not."
However, it was Reham Khan’s inconsiderate action of creating a hypothetical situation involving Sarah Khan’s one and only daughter Alyana into the discussion which has enraged Noor Zafar, igniting her to respond strongly.
The female Journalist in the show said that God forbid if Sarah Khan's daughter Alyana, who is living her best life, enjoying luxuries provided by her father Falak Shabbir, faces restrictions and gender-based oppression in the future. She somehow stressed how Sarah would talk about her rights when there are no movements speaking for women.
Reham Khan’s abovementioned controversial remarks triggered many emotions, taking to her Instagram handle, actress Noor Zafar condemned her words also her act to using name of Alyana in the matter when she has nothing to do with it.
“You talk about feminism, but then you stoop so low as to bring a three-year-old kid into the conversation. Is this your idea of empowerment? Is that what feminism has come to dragging a child into your arguments just to take a jab at her mother,” Noor Zafar wrote in her Instagram upload.
