The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to announce the national T20 squad later this week for the team’s upcoming tours to Bangladesh and West Indies, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.

According to the sources, Pakistan is scheduled to play three T20Is in Bangladesh, while the tour of the West Indies includes three T20Is and three ODIs.

However, the PCB has proposed converting the West Indies ODIs into T20Is, keeping in view preparations for the T20 World Cup. The West Indies Cricket Board is yet to respond to this proposal.

If the proposal is accepted, a combined T20 squad will be named for both tours. If not, additional players for ODIs will be announced separately.

The national T20 training camp is set to begin on July 7 in Karachi. Sources also indicate that no major changes are expected in the current T20 lineup.

Young spinner Sufiyan Muqeem is likely to be included in the squad.

Key players such as Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, who were rested during the recent home series against Bangladesh, are expected to rejoin the squad.

The final schedule and squad composition will depend on confirmation from the West Indies board regarding the format switch.
