Hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, rain-wind/thundershower is expected at isolated places in Kashmir, Islamabad, North Eastern Punjab, Potohar region and Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Meteorological Department, Islamabad and the surrounding areas will remain humid and partly cloudy. There is a chance of rain with thunder and wind during the evening or night.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the sky will be partly cloudy in most districts. However, rain with wind and thunder is expected at a few places, including Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Bajaur, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, and Peshawar.
In Punjab, Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Lahore, Multan, and Bhakkar are likely to receive rain with thunder and wind. Some areas may see heavy downpours. In the rest of the province, the weather will stay hot and humid.
In Balochistan, the weather will mostly be hot and humid. However, areas like Musakhel, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Kalat, Mastung, and surroundings may get rain with wind and thunder.
In Sindh, the weather across Sindh will remain very hot and humid. No rain is expected in most areas. Kashmir will be cloudy with chances of rain and thunderstorms with winds, while Gilgit-Baltistan will stay hot and dry.
Rainfall was recorded in various regions across the country. In Punjab, Attock received 34mm, Islamabad Airport 15mm, Murree 08mm, and Sialkot City 01mm of rain.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kakul recorded 26mm, Kalam 18mm, Malam Jabba 09mm, Saidu Sharif 04mm, Pattan 03mm, while Peshawar City and Balakot each received 02mm. In Kashmir, Kotli received 17mm, Muzaffarabad Airport 14mm, Muzaffarabad City 11mm, and Rawalakot 06mm. In Sindh, Mithi recorded 01mm of rain.
Today’s maximum temperatures were also significantly high. Dalbandin recorded the highest at 45°C, followed by Dadu, Mohenjo-daro, Sibi, and Chilas at 43°C, while Bhakkar and Bahawalnagar each experienced 42°C.
