A major scandal has rocked the Shah Faisal Colony Police Station in Karachi, where the Station House Officer (SHO) allegedly vanished Rs 2.4 million recovered during a Task Force raid on an illegal gutka factory, 24NewsHD reported on Monday.
On June 20, a high-profile raid led by the task force under DIG Irfan Baloch was conducted at the factory of a notorious gutka dealer, Kashif Langa, in Shah Faisal Colony.
The operation yielded Rs2.4 million in cash and large quantities of gutka, chalia, and other illicit goods.
The entire raid was filmed as per Task Force SOPs, and all recovered materials were formally handed over to Shah Faisal police, sources confirm.
But when the FIR was registered, the police mentioned only Rs 1,500 in cash — and made no mention of the gutka, chalia, or the remaining cash. The massive discrepancy sparked internal outrage, and the SHO is now under serious scrutiny.
According to police sources, this isn't mere negligence — it's being treated as deliberate misappropriation.
The Task Force, acting under DIG Baloch, is reportedly conducting citywide raids as part of an anti-gutka crackdown, and this incident has jeopardised their credibility.
