Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has acknowledged internal turmoil within the party, attributing the situation to the leadership's inability to meet the party's founder, jailed former prime minister Imran Khan, and receive guidance from him.
Speaking to the media on Adiala Road, Barrister Salman Akram Raja confirmed that there was chaos within the party, saying the leadership had been unable to obtain instructions due to the prolonged absence of meetings with the PTI founder.
Commenting on reports regarding a scheduled meeting with the founder's sister that did not take place despite an agreement, Salman Akram Raja said questions on the matter should be directed to the family. He added that he did not wish to comment on the family's position. He said it was entirely up to the family whether they wanted to meet collectively or individually, describing it as their personal decision.
The PTI leader said the party leadership remained under pressure because it had not been able to meet the founder or receive fresh directions. He claimed that no meeting had taken place for the past eight months and that the last message received from the PTI founder related to the planned April 9 rally.
Salman Akram Raja reiterated that the party leadership wanted to meet the PTI founder to seek instructions and move forward according to his guidance.
