As Karachiites celebrated the sighting of the Eid moon, reckless aerial firing across the city left seven people injured, including women and children. Most incidents were reported in the West District, where stray bullets struck unsuspecting citizens.
Among the injured was eight-year-old Asiya, who was hit by a bullet from an unknown direction in Qasba Colony. Similarly, ten-year-old Irfan was wounded by a blind shot in Orangi Town No. 10, while 16-year-old Iram suffered injuries in Baldia Town Qaim Khani Colony.
In Orangi Town’s Frontier Colony, a woman named Nousheen was wounded by a stray bullet, and another individual sustained injuries in the same area. Qasba Mian Wali Colony and Nazimabad No. 1 also reported incidents where people were struck by bullets from unknown directions.
The victims were shifted to hospitals for treatment as rescue teams and law enforcement agencies responded to the incidents. Despite repeated warnings by authorities, aerial firing remains a dangerous and unchecked practice in Karachi during festive occasions.
Police have vowed to take strict action against those responsible, urging citizens to celebrate responsibly and report any individuals engaging in reckless firing.
