Established Pakistani actress Saba Qamar has joined the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF)’s significant campaign as a brand ambassador against child marriages in the country.

Taking to her Instagram handle, Saba Qamar dropped a thought-provoking video of herself and some young and teenage brides in order to stress the negative effects of child marriage on the future of young women.

In the video, Saba, through lifting her veil, strongly raised her voice against child marriages and called for significant action against child protection.

She said in the video: “Stop, marriage is not wrong, Instead, child marriage is wrong. It ruins lives. How can we let that happen? I have joined UNICEF in this mission.”

“Millions of girls are silenced before they even find their voice. Child marriage too often robs them of their freedom, education, and health.

Every girl deserves the chance to learn, to grow, to dream… and shape her own future. Together with UNICEF, I’m speaking out so that every girl can live life to her full potential.

Use your voice. Speak up. Start the conversation. Let’s work together to #EndChildMarriage, the actress added in the caption of the video.”

It is important to mention that the Country Pakistan has unfortunately become the sixth largest country with child marriages with an estimation of girl marrying before the age of 18.
