The Jamiat Ulema Islam will continue its journey of progress, JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Wednesday night.
Addressing the JUI Digital Media Convention, he said the JUI faced baseless propaganda.
He added: “Blames were hurled at us. We never used foul language. We were subjected to political persecution and slurs.
"What did they get by doing all this? Did it stop the progress and recognition of Jamiat?
“The more we were subjected to smearing, the more we got respect and recognition.”
He said the JUI has decided to play its role on the social media front too.
He rued: “Nowadays, everyone is trying to humiliate and disrespect someone's weakness.
“Killing a Muslim is considered halal. Muslims are disrespected. It has nothing to do with faith.”
